Each face is hand sculpted. I use acrylic
paint as a cold finishing process, starting with black paint,
then gilding with bronze, adding color washes, more gilding,
until the piece seems finished. They can hang indoors or outside
as garden masks. Outdoor pieces need to be out of winter weather,
as freezing will cause the water absorbed naturally by clay
to fracture it.
